Having as much of this information together as possible will make the whole process of ordering invitations much easier and you will get you a far more accurate quote on materials and labor costs. Labor costs include anticipated time spent working with text and graphic elements prepress and actual time on the press. After agreement is made to proceed with producing your invitations we require a deposit of half down. Upon completion you are sent a finished sample and a invoice for final payment.  When it is received we ship everything and you live happily ever after.

Typically invitations are sent out 3 months in advance of the date to allow your guests time to plan.  We prefer notice of at least 2 months to fit into the press schedule and allow time for figuring out the small details that inevitably occur though we will do rush jobs if you need them.

If you have looked at the many samples we show you will have noted that having multiple colors on an invitation increases visual appeal though much can be done with a thoughtful design in a single color as is also shown. Consider that costs are also affected as every color is a separate lock up and press run and note that debossing and embossing are both considered to be separate press runs as well.

Images are produced from either digital files or hard copy.  The better the quality of the original the better the quality of the reproduction so if providing digital files a screen resolution of at least 300 dpi is recommended and it helps if it is larger than the size you wish it to be for when it is reduced the detail will be even better.  The type of image is a important consideration as well.  A line drawing or line drawing with a spot color will reproduce better on textured papers than a photograph will.  The sunflower shown above was printed from 4 separate plates (red, yellow, blue & black) in close registration to produce the full color image, that's 4 separate set ups and press runs but quite a lovely result.  The cost of making plates for images has recently gone up with our service provider to $1.10 per square inch and we do not add on any more to it beyond the design phase and the cost of shipping.   The minimum order is of 20 square inches which gives you a 4 x 5 inch image size and a cost of $21.00.
