at Deep Wood with the equipment we have the
possibilities are nearly endless. We can die cut, perforate, blind stamp,
emboss, foil stamp and print onto most any material. Due to our "dated"
technology the results of process color printing are not to par with modern
day offset printing technologies but you'll see where our true
value lies. Our products are quality not necessarily quantity.
Below are shown Bay Bucks, a project we printed for the Traverse City Community Currency
project and they are now in circulation in the greater Grand Traverse
region. The bills below do not show the added security features
which are a foil stamp run done on the lower right corner and a serial
number printed above the "Trustworthy Tools for Local Exchange."
Close inspection of the design reveals a tight line pattern within the
state outline, detail line/halftone variations in the petoskey stone
borders and a moirŽ pattern behind the animals. Plates were made from
original artwork and printing was done on a polymer based "paper" to
withstand use and washings. About $99,000 worth of currency was printed for this initial run.
